Project Overview

Located in Mannerim on the Bellarine Peninsula, this stunning architecturally designed residence was designed to capture the spectacular views from every room. The resulting concept evolved with very minimal variation from the original vision discussed at our initial site visit.

The living pavilion to the left of the entry contains vehicle accommodation, a large alfresco dining space, the main indoor kitchen with a fully functional butler’s pantry linking the laundry/garage and direct alfresco access. The large living and dining space has a raked ceiling reaching south, connecting to highlight windows, and a mitred glazed far corner to the room showcasing both the best view and a suspended “orb” rotating fire.

The entrance foyer is accessed via a timber “jetty” which is positioned above a large pond which in turn is protected overhead by a flat roof plane, supported by three substantial re-claimed timber posts which extend out of the water. The bluestone wall cladding of this area extends through the glass entry door unit into the internal foyer space. This overall combination of elements references the board walks, stone sea walls and timber piers of Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale and provides a whimsical connection to the rural-maritime setting.
